For the first time the emerging grassroots economy is coming together to celebrate its strength and diversity. It is hosting a free festival Saturday, September 26th at the Humanist Hall at 390 27th St in Oakland.

Whether it’s the American Indian Movement, Latin American Solidarity campaigns, Women‘s Liberation, community-based struggles against environmental racism, the current efforts to end the war in Iraq, or a broad range of other post-1960s US social movements, Visions of Peace & Justice records it all through the timeless powerful art of the poster. Doug Minkler
Celebrating the Collective Spirit
of Those on the Margins

Many of the most memorable posters Inkworks has printed since the early 1980s are from Bay Area artist, Doug Minkler. His unique style is instantly recognizable along with his work's consistent commitment to challenging injustices and working for peace. Doug has worked closely with Inkworks over the years to publish some of of the shop's most well known posters including 'The US Government Doesn't Know Beans' and 'Art is not a Mirror'. MORE

The afternoon of August 25 was an exciting and unusual time at Inkworks. As the press operators ran their machines and the customer service people discussed jobs over the phone, groups of curious students circled through the shop snapping hundreds of pictures and asking countless questions about what they were seeing. Swing by the Inkworks Table
Inkworks will be at three exciting events this month across the Bay Area. The events range from a printmaking street festival, to a celebration of alternative grassroots economic models, to a book fair celebrating green authors and publishers. At all three events, we will be selling our award-winning book of political posters Visions of Peace and Justice as well as selling and giving away various posters.
